Why do athletes and coaches need media training?
The answer is as simple as it is complex…

Like them or not, the media is an important part of sports in the 21st Century, and being an athlete or coach makes you fair game for media scrutiny. In the age of the 24-hour news cycle, there is a limited amount of on the field activity that sports news shows can cover. The rest of their time is usually dedicated to controversy and reaction sparked by something an athlete or coach has said or done.

You should not wonder if the media will ask you questions. They will. When your phone rings, when you walk off the field, when you are in the locker room, or when you step up to a microphone for a post-game press conference you have to be prepared.
